Many of our products supplied are covered with a prescription from a medical doctor however, it depends on the diagnosis and the type of insurance coverage that you have.

We can direct bill to the following, for claims exceeding $100:

  • Manitoba Health

  • Workers Compensation Board

  • Manitoba Public Insurance

  • Employment and Income Assistance

  • Blue Cross (RCMP, Canadian Forces, Veteran’s Affairs)

  • Canada Life

  • First Canadian Health (NIHB Non-Insured Health Benefits)

DIRECT BILLING TO THIRD-PARTY INSURANCE

MANITOBA HEALTH

You need a doctor’s prescription with a date, diagnosis, affected area, your date of birth, and Manitoba Health numbers. Only specific diagnoses and devices are covered through Manitoba Health so please contact us to see if you are covered. If you do have a diagnosis and device that is covered through Manitoba Health then no prior approval is needed.

Manitoba Health

FIRST CANADIAN HEALTH (NIHB: NON-INSURED HEALTH BENEFITS)

You will need your I.D. number (treaty number) and a doctor’s prescription with diagnosis. We need to get prior approval from First Canadian Health before direct billing, as only certain devices are covered. The processing time varies, however is usually 2-4 weeks. Once we have received approval, you will be contacted to come pick up your requested product. We cannot release product from the store prior to obtaining an approval.

WORKERS COMPENSATION BOARD (WCB) AND MANITOBA PUBLIC INSURANCE (MPI)

You will need a doctor’s prescription with a diagnosis, a WCB/MPI claim number and your case managers contact information. If the item exceeds $100, we are able to direct bill. We will need to get verbal prior approval from your case worker before billing. If you need to leave the store before we have received approval, we will contact you to come in for the product once we have received a response.

THIRD PARTY INSURANCE BILLING

While we can direct bill Blue Cross and Canada Life we unfortunately are not set up to direct bill every insurance provider, as each company has different coverage and restrictions. If we are unable to direct bill, we will require payment upfront, and will provide appropriate receipts for personal submission and reimbursement. Most private insurance companies require a doctor’s prescription with diagnosis, a receipt, and a claim form which can be downloaded online.

Third party insurance billings are evaluated on an individual basis; the protocol to bill these insurance companies is different and is on a case-by-case evaluation. Please contact us for further details to see if you are covered, as every situation is unique.
